The Real Talk
Emergencies don’t wait for convenient timing or business hours. When water’s gushing from your ceiling or you smell smoke, the next few minutes matter more than the next few hours. Priority: life safety → 911 (if fire/smoke) → property emergency line → document details.

- If safe, close doors behind you to slow spread
- Once outside: call the property emergency line and report location
Do This Now (Water leak)
- If water is near outlets or fixtures: stay clear and shut off power to that area if safe
- Stop the source if you can safely (turn off valve/toilet supply)
- Call the emergency line (don’t wait for office hours)
- If leaking into another unit: notify immediately
- Take 2–3 photos once you’re safe

Why This Matters
In emergencies, delays create damage and safety risk. The right call in the first minutes prevents multi-unit impact and protects people. We’ve seen small fires become big ones because tenants tried to handle things themselves first. When crisis hits, speed and clarity save the day.

The Bottom Line
Emergency response isn’t about being a hero. It’s about being smart. Know your steps, trust your instincts, and remember that every second you waste figuring out what to do is a second the problem gets worse.
